QNAP NAS Review
QNAP stands for Quality Providers and Network Appliance are on the market for the design quality of NAS drives. In view of the mission was to demonstrate that they have on the production of quality NAS drives, as they say it, the world leaders mean business in NAS solutions. Big boots to fill!
QNAP generally produce less disk devices. This means that you essentially buy the shell and put inside their own hard drives, which can help control costs. You will run all the software required tomanaged and operated to NAS, it is only the hard drive (s) you need to supply.
QNAP are generally regarded as one of the fastest NAS devices from independent testing times, are evident, for example, the QNAP TS-509 with a Gigabit Ethernet show results on the 70MB / s range. The TS-509 can store up to 5 hard drives and using RAID 5 configuration, please see my other items for RAID descriptions and whether you need it (or not to Raid Raid NAS) is the question. The TS-509 is in the business-user oriented, but that isnot to say it can not be used by private users as well. It all depends on how deep your pockets are and what you need from a NAS device.
QNAP offer single drive solutions do not forget that this could still a point of failure and some of my other articles about online backups some light on this (why online backups, you can sleep peacefully shed)
QNAP provides a variety of functions for file-sharing (UPS Uninterruptible Power Supply), support for sophisticatedBackup software, encrypted remote replication. They are definitely at the top of the pile of NAS devices in my books.
